Palma Airport Information
                               
Palma airport is a large airport for a holiday Island and from flight landing to exiting the baggage collection area into airport arrivals can take 30 – 40 minutes.

Taxi touts ply their trade in Palma airport arrivals hall. They walk alongside people with suitcases asking if they need a taxi. Please do not deal with these people as they won’t be insured for carrying passengers and are operating illegally.

Taxis at Palma airport taxi rank are licenced for a maximum of  4 passengers. Taxis on Majorca at the airport taxi rank and in resorts have an exemption from providing child seats / boosters. Each passenger regardless of age must have an allocated seat.

Some people have been informed Minibuses are available at the Palma airport taxi rank. This is wrong information. They have probably seen our fleet of Mercedes Minibuses in our allocated parking area close to the airport taxi rank.

Stranded passengers….at our customer reception office in Palma airport arrivals hall we get people asking us for help when the transfer company they have booked transfers with or arranged via a travel agent was not there to meet them.

Often they are told to look out for a man with their name on a piece of paper in the busy arrivals area. Having pre paid for  transfers they now have to use holiday spending money on transport to/from the holiday location, then have the hassle of trying to get their transfer money back on returning home.

Please check out the Terms and Conditions with whatever transfer company you chose for airport transfers. The small print can often produce some surprises..e.g. One transfer broker offering  ‘cheap transfers‘ charges 15 euro for each detail change after a transfer booking has been pre paid.
Airlines often change flight times and travel companies can change hotels at the last minute. Finding you will have to pay 15 euro for each transfer detail change when the changes are not your fault is annoying. Suddenly those ’cheap transfers ‘ have become very expensive.

For return transfers it is advisable to be at Palma airport departures at least 2 hours before flight time, the time most flight check in desks open. Some low cost airlines close their check in desks 40 minutes before flight time.

Allow plenty of journey time from resort to Palma airport departures. Better to be at airport departures early than a last minute rush.

Assistance for passengers with disabilities and walking problems is available by electric buggies provided by the airport. The only people who can order one of these vehicles to meet the aircraft is the airline.
